The Cottage is made up of an original 18th century cottage with the original flagstone floor, wooden beams and extremely thick walls and this makes up the lounge and the second bedroom. Around 25 years ago the cottage was extended and the kitchen/diner and the main bedroom were added. This was designed to make the cottage look like 2 seperate cottages and that confuses many people - especially any delivery men!
The original cottage was part of two workers cottages, and is attached to "Brimstock" next door.
Our New Bathroom
Lockdown 1 gave us the opportunity for a new kitchen but Lockdown 3 meant we could also redo the bathroom.

Main Bedroom
The Main Bedroom is a beautiful spaceous room with an extra large kingsize bed with two large windows with stunning views overlooking Lake Windermere and the valley across to Near Sawrey and the Langdales.
It briefly comprises a large wardrobe, chest of drawers with a mirror, bedside tables, lamps, alarm clock, phone and a hair dryer.
Second Bedroom
The Second Bedroom is in the original part of the cottage and has a double bed. Two windows provide views across to Lake Windermere and the valley and each has a lovely window seat. There is also a character fireplace (not usable).
The bedroom also has a wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables and lamps. There is a wall mounted smart TV in this room with a bluray player and a Freeview recorder.
Lounge
The lounge is part of the original cottage and is full of character features. The floor is the original flagstone floor and the ceiling has the original beams. There is also a wood burner (wood provided) which makes for a lovely cosy space to relax. Gas central heating is controlled by a high tech wifi nest which keeps the cottage warm throughout the year.
There is a smart TV, with netflix and Amazon Prime, a bluray player and Denon sound system as well as an Alexa for all your entertainment needs. There are also a small number of DVDs and games.
There are two sofas, one of which is a sofabed. If you have dogs please use the throws provided.
Kitchen
The kitchen is a modern and bright area with all the mod cons. There is a gas hob with electric oven. There is a microwave, kettle, 4 slice toaster and filter coffee maker (filter papers provided). In addition there is a full sized dishwasher and a washer-dryer.
The kitchen is triple aspect to take advantage of the fantastic views and the floor of the kitchen is amtico wood and extremely practical for dogs. There is a pew seat in the kitchen as well.
Dining Area
The dining area is part of the kitchen and contains a dining table and four oak chairs. The table is normally set for 4 but is extendable and 2 additional chairs are kept in the main bedroom.
Denby crockery, together with plenty of cutlery and glassware ensures that you have everything you need for cooking and eating at the Cottage - but don't forget a trip down to the Cuckoo Brow Inn just at the bottom of the lane!
Bathroom
The bathroom has been recently redone. It is upstairs and is fully tiled with a heated towel rail. There is a bath with a lovely shower over the bath, WC and basin.
Porch and Patio
There is a porch area with hooks for coats and is an ideal place for storing all your walking or doggy paraphernalia.
The slate patio has a table and four chairs as well as a 2-seater love seat. There is also a sun-umbrella for the table.
Garden
The garden is fully enclosed.
